"You are not born for yourself but for the world."

School News - November 2014

The Agenda:

This year the school council is seeking to improve student life and increase their involvement in the happenings and improvements of the school campus. The issues raised so far have ranged from laying the astro-turf (which should be done in the Christmas holidays) to connecting the buildings for when it rains. A range of after school activities have also been discussed from film club to photography.

Fund Raising:

After school sessions have been suggested for students to partake in activities outside of school hours that are organised and managed by students from within the school; with the purpose of having fun while raising funds to improve the school. Other events such as Battle of the Bands and talent shows have been suggested but all of these still need a lot of discussion and organisation before they can come into effect.

I hope to have a better report on our activities in the next edition of the ISS Islander as we are only starting up ideas at the moment. Hopefully after this half term of hard work we can get a lot done and bring the students the improved educational life they desire.
