It’s raining it’s pouring… this outfit I’m adoring!

The month of November is upon us which means the rainy season is round the corner! That means possible floods, flu, oh and of course the usual pretty new shoes ruined...am I right? Many people tend to throw on whatever they expect to keep them warm that is more a testament to laziness than a fashion statement.

But Never Fear! Here is some guidance for you my dears...

Layer up! Staying cool is your new tool. It’s likely that with strong winds that you risk getting wet so cover up with a trendy trench coat and girls make sure those skirts have cover ups too....prevent too much skin from being revealed by styling them with tights or mini-shorts under it.

Scarves, tights and even leather jackets are just what you need to battle the storm. Also make Knitwear your new BFF it’s a great option providing a chic, feminine look to your style making it your trend this season...

One thing you should note, though, is that with the strong winds blowing the heavy rains come from every direction; it’s unlikely any part of you will actually stay dry once you step outside. That is why you need a good cover-up, like a windbreaker or the more stylish waterproof coat.

Short bottoms, high shoes. Tired of having the sticky feeling of damped fabric against your legs? Go casual: a pair of lace or jean shorts can neither be too underdressed nor too casual when paired with the right piecing. Remember to use your cover ups, mini-coats or blazers; these can add a touch of spark to your outfit. Pair your short skirt, dress or shorts with a pair of high shoes or even boots to keep your feet high off the ground and away from the puddles; that way you’ll be dry to the bone! Avoid wearing pumps or trainers; when those shoes are wet they can get really uncomfortable to wear and tend to carry quite an unpleasant smell with them that not even perfume can mask...

Let there be light...

Just my way of saying bring in brightness to the dark gloomy weather by adding bold colours to counter it such as red and orange or even pink to perk up the stormy feeling

OR

To embrace the blues and greys of the sky you can go vampy by stocking up on all those black, grey or blue outfits to match the weather.

Accessorise those dim colours with the addition of a bright bag or scarf creating a great statement contrast to the dark outfits. Try all the bright colours of the rainbow to brighten up your day...

“I personally like to go 50:50 with my outfit of choice; where l wear vibrant colours on either my top or shoes. The matching colour scheme then blends along with my dark bottom.”

With these tips your style spirit shall never be dampened again…

You’ll soon be saying rain rain go away… This fashions here to stay my way!!
